This housing holds the crankshaft and upper driveshaft oil seals beneath the F4 and F6A crankcase.
Its stepped bore positions the different seal sizes, and the outer groove accepts the O-ring that seals it to the crankcase cover.
A projecting lug provides the retaining-bolt attachment.
