- Tilt the outboard motor so that the gear oil drain screw is at the lowest point possible.
- Place a suitable container under the gear case.
- Remove gear oil drain screw
- Remove the oil level plug to allow the oil to drain completely.
- If the oil is milky, it indicates water contamination and the gear case should be inspected by a professional.
- Use a flexible or pressurized filling device; inject the gear oil into the gear oil drain screw hole.
- When the oil begins to flow out of the oil level plug hole, insert and tighten the oil level plug. (replace gasket)
- Insert and tighten the gear oil drain screw. (replace gasket)
